About Us

PHILOSOPHY

DayCaring  is a family oriented, child centered preschool. Our goal is to foster a high level of self-esteem, creativity and happiness not only in your children but in the professionals who care for them.

Our school is planned with a variety of interest and activity areas to allow the children to exercise and develop their powers of choice and selection and to concentrate as long as they need on any activity.

Our atmosphere is one in which each child is accepted for himself or herself, a place where we help each child develop at his or her own way at their own pace.

We help children develop their abilities to:

Explore and run,
share their fun,
finish what's begun,
put away when done,
demand less (all or none),
restrict their "No(s),"
let Mother go,
accept what's so...

PROGRAM

There are five general areas of activity for the children. The arts and crafts, small motor skills, imaginative play and the large motor skills activity areas are indoors. There is also a spacious playground outside along with controlled access to all of Manor School's recreational playing fields.

Each morning and afternoon, projects are offered to the children. They are free to do these or go to the interest area of their choice. Whenever weather permits, the outdoor play area is available with learning and craft experiences also being offered outside.

Snack time is scheduled mid-morning and mid-afternoon.  Lunch is from 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m., followed by nap time starting at 1:00 p.m.  Occasionally, we go on field trips. Parents are encouraged to participate in field trips. Parents are given ample advance notice and time to fill out and return permission forms. The center also welcomes parents or other visitors who can share a special talent or interest with the children. This must be scheduled in advance with the Director. Parents, of course, are welcome at any time.
